Harviestoun Brewery at glug…

We are delighted to have the entire range of Harviestoun Brewery ales from Alva, Scotland at glug…

More about the range:

image‘Bitter and Twisted’ – a malty sweet aroma with a floral, fruity hoppiness and a zingy, zesty flavour. Complex, rounded, sweet and dry; this is the connoisseurs’ session beer par excellence!

‘Schiehallian’ –  is a stunning lager with elegant head and luscious lacing. It has aromas and flavours of fresh-cut grass, brown sugar, lychee and green mango.

‘The Ridge’ – the Mid-Atlantic Ridge is where two tectonic plates meet at almost the midpoint between America and Scotland.

With this geological symmetry in mind, we’ve created a union between American Amarillo and British hops to produce a distinctive US style ale with Scottish origins, quaffable with a seismic depth of flavour.

image‘Broken Dial’ (original and bottle conditioned) – this gloriously amber coloured ale is made with what is often considered to be the finest hop on the earth, namely the Simcoe Hop.

The result is a fantastically fruity finish with distinctly malty undertones.

‘Old Engine Oil and Engineer’s Reserve’ – heavily-scented chocolate aroma with loads of roast malt and dark fruit. An incredibly thick, creamy mouthfeel. Loads of chocolate flavours, some coffee and a sweet, fruity note to boot.

Brewed up to 9% from an original 6%, it packs a punch.

Ola Dubh – aged in Highland Park whisky barrels

Ola Dubh‘Ola Dubh 12’ – Ola Dubh 12 pours black with a modest spattered head that reduces slowly, leaving behind textbook lacing.

The aroma is delicious; smoky Worcestershire sauce, leather, iodine and grilled steak.

This amazing brew has been aged in selected oak casks formerly used to mature Highland Park 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky, adding complementary whisky notes to our chocolatey, bittersweet beer.

‘Ola Dubh 16’- like the others, Ola Dubh 16 pours out jet black, with a small mocha-coloured head.

There’s plenty to enjoy on the nose which is a classy blend of whisky, sweet roasted malts, earthy woodland and vanilla.

‘Ola Dubh 18’ – the initial whisky hit on the nose gives way to more delicate aromas of chocolate, fruity coffee grounds and hints of woodland berries.

The flavour is a very appetising blend of sweet malts, vanilla, oak and tobacco.

It has undertones of raisins and other dark, dried fruits; a delicious testament to Highland Park’s bias toward sherry casks.
